At this edition of FIMEC, MK presented new alternatives for reducing the environmental impact of soaking and liming, also contributing to the reduction of smells during these stages, fostering a less harmful environment for tannery operators. The system is based on the hair removal agent MK DP-510, a reducing action thiocompound that completely or partially replaces sodium sulfide, allied with KORAMIM NF auxiliary, a polyaminohydroxide compound with a buffering power in the alkaline range that aids the control of smells and reduces the amount of nitrogen in the process; and ENZIPEL CT a bacterian proteolytic enzyme that aids the hair removal action and provides greater cleaning of the skins. The latest developments follow MK’s already traditional philosophy of releasing products that cater to the 3 E’s: Efficiency, Economy and Ecology.
